HELP CHANGE THE WORLD! Student-Athletes Adopt Villages in Kenya
Imagine saving and improving the lives of thousands in Africa at the same time developing your leadership skills and building your resume! Student-Athletes Leading Social Change (SALSC) is a passionate coalition of current and former college student-athletes who are compelled to change the world.
JOIN FELLOW STUDENT-ATHLETES FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO ADOPT KENYAN VILLAGES Our mission for the 2009/10 school year is to adopt villages in Kenya to help lift them out of poverty. The sustainable, "Adopt a Village" project combines the efforts of current and former student-athletes from across the country with local African villagers to provide them with new schools, adequate healthcare, clean water and sanitation, and alternative income sources.
ONLY $16,000 CAN MAKE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE! Student-athletes from across the country including North Carolina, Illinois, Michigan, Notre Dame, Yale, Pitt, Georgetown, Baylor, Lehigh, and WSSU are working together to raise at least $16,000 per school by April 1, 2010. The money raised will make a life-changing impact on impoverished African villages and will: - Build new schools in Kenya serving hundreds of children
- Implement water systems to provide clean and safe drinking water - Provide health education to minimize disease and deaths - Teach sports skills to promote healthy living, leadership, and teamwork
